History:
By 1915, land had been purchased on Kickapoo Street and a high school
erected at a cost of $21,000. This building, intended for just high school
students, had a first and second grade class for two years before they
were moved back to East Side School. The school was named Joe Wright,
but known as Jacksonville High School.
Note:
In the distance you can see the Old Main building of Jacksonville Baptist
College (JBC).
