History:
"East Side was completed in 1912 on the site where the Tomato Bowl stands today. It was the pride of the city and the latest in architectural beauty. It had three stories, an auditorium, offices, text book rooms and classrooms. It was primarily a high school, but some elementary classes were held there. It served the students in Jacksonville until the present East Side was constructed in 1939. This building was then torn down and the Tomato Bowl Stadium (official name) erected."
