Writing on back:

This is where Georgia is teaching. It is a very pretty place. Had a letter from Minnie just now. Charlie Pryor is dead.
Will write in a few days. Love to all.

History:

Alexander Institute was established in Kilgore, Texas, in 1873. In 1894, the decision was made to transfer the school to Jacksonville.

The school was originally located at the corner of South Bonner and Sunset Avenue. When this location became undesireable due to noise, the school was relocated to College Avenue.

This building ("Twin Towers") was completed in 1908.

In 1924, the school was renamed Lon Morris College. Lon Morris is the oldest existing junior college in Texas.
