"I purchased a 1913 magazine called Holland's from the Ebaugh estate. It has an article (3pgs.) on Lem Brown and his New-Way store. From the above picture, I believe it is this store. The article never mentioned J.L. Brown. Maybe the L stands for Lem. "

- Linda Harkins

"J.L. Brown was indeed Lem Brown. I just did a little research on Holland's Magazine. It was a monthly women's magazine, similar to Ladies Home Journal and Woman's Home Companion, published from 1905-1953 out of Dallas."
