"In the '30's the public library was housed in the NW corner of this building."

"The tall part of the building, which was the East end, housed the fire department. I got to slide down the brass pole when I was about 6 years old. The tax collectors office was on the SW corner of the building"

"How well I remember back in the 50's when a REALLY bad storm would hit the area this place would be crawling with people. They would stay in the hallway and in the fire station until the storm was over. I remember once spending half the night there."
