The Bartlett (Bart) Bolton Family

Facts by Pauline Douglas Bolton

Bartlett Renfro Bolton, son of Canada and Susanna Bolton, was a Methodist minister. He served churches in both West and East Texas as pastor. He was appointed presiding elder for the Waco District and the Fort Worth District. After retiring from active ministry, he was financial agent for Southwestern University, a Methodist institution in Georgetown.

Bart Bolton married Betty Caswell of Tyler on October 24, 1884, and they were parents of three sons: William Downes, who married Pauline Douglas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Douglas of Jacksonville; Bonner Caswell, who married Maddie Mae Goodrich, and Jay Bart.

Bonner lived in Portland, Oregon, from 1918 until his death in 1969. After the death of Downes Bolton in 1955 in Albuquerque, Pauline Douglas Bolton returned to reside here. She lives on College Avenue.
