Note:

Settled in Ghent community of Cherokee Co. Texas in 1850 - left Alabama in the spring, approximately 2 month journey. On outbreak of Civil War, joined 1st Texas Infantry, served with Hood's Brigade, wounded at Sharpsburg, stayed in army until end of war - left Susannah home with 8 children to run farm.

Note:

Sevier was Canada's paternal grandmother's maiden name.
